The NEUBIE®: Neurological Re-education & Rapid Recovery

The NEUBIE® is a specialized Direct Current (DC) stimulation device that works with your body’s nervous system rather than against it. Most traditional stimulation devices use Alternating Current (AC), which can cause muscles to “guard.” The NEUBIE’s unique DC waveform allows for deep neurological change without the stress response.

The Science: The "Mapping" Process

The brain often “shuts down” or limits certain muscles after an injury to protect the body. This creates compensation patterns that lead to chronic pain. The NEUBIE allows us to find these neurological disconnects through a process called Mapping.

  • Identifying the “Brake”: We move a scanning electrode over your body while you perform a specific movement. When the electrode hits a spot where the nervous system is “guarding,” you will feel a strong sensation. This is the neurological “hotspot”—the area where your brain has put on the brakes.
  • Neurological Re-education: Once the hotspots are identified, we use the NEUBIE to provide intensive input to those areas. This “retrains” the brain to realize the area is safe, effectively turning the muscles back on and resetting the movement pattern.

Why Direct Current (DC) Matters

Most electrical stim units (like TENS or traditional EMS) use Alternating Current. AC causes a tetanic contraction (a “freeze” response) in the muscle. The NEUBIE’s Direct Current matches the body’s natural electrical signals.
